We are all wondering what effect the current pandemic will have on our businesses when we return to normal, or at least the ‘new normal’. What will that look like? At Shortmove we believe that the advantages of serviced accommodation that already exist for guests – their own front door, their own space, their own cooking facilities – will be accentuated by the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic. In the initial stages after lockdown, guests will seek the home-away-from-home experience that having their own apartment can offer – minimal interaction with people from outside their family or work group, ease of social distancing, little or no reliance on busy restaurant for example. There’s also likely to be an upsurge in domestic travel, and after months of being cooped-up at home people will be desperate to get out and about, which we’re hopeful will lead to a quick bounce-back from the current depressed level of activity. We’re proud at Shortmove to offer high-quality apartments around the country to meet this growing need.
